Arrival by air
Darmstadt is only 25 minutes from Frankfurt-Main (FRA) airport, the second busiest passenger airport in Europe. The timetable and departure point for the shuttle bus can be found found here. This will take you to Darmstadt train station (Darmstadt Hauptbahnhof). From there, follow the directions below (Arrival by train).
Arrival by train
After reaching Darmstadt main station (Darmstadt Hauptbahnhof), proceed to the bus and tram stop directly in front (east) of the station building. Buy a ticket from one of the vending machines (instructions available in English) for Darmstadt-Stadtmitte or zone (“Tarifgebiet”) 4001 (Note: if you arrived on the “Airliner” shuttle bus your bus ticket can be used to travel to the university.)
Take any of the 671, 672, 5507, 5510, K55 or K56 bus lines. Get off the bus at Jugendstilbad, a short walk from our building (see map above). If you arrive late at night, it may be more convenient to catch one of the many buses or trams into Luisenplatz (the centre of Darmstadt) and walk (5-10 minutes) to TUD.

Arrival by car
Leave the motorway at the exit Darmstadt Stadtmitte and drive towards the city centre. Take the B26 (Cityring) towards Dieburg. There is a parking area right opposite the department.
